BNP Paribas Solar Impulse Venture Fund

Our mission

Launched in Paris in 2022, BNPP SIVF exclusively targets high potential growth start-up companies in the scale-up phase that are developing innovative technologies to accelerate the ecological transition. To do so, we leverage on a unique partnership between BNP Paribas and Bertrand Picard’s Solar Impulse Foundation, whose teams have labelled 1,500+ solutions protecting the environment. As an anchor investor, we aim to provide financial resources in the form of direct investments, investment and domain expertise, a wide network of industry connections and influence to actively foster and accelerate the emergence of future sustainable leaders.

Our approach

Using our extensive industry network and rigorous due diligence, we seek to source and to identify 15 to 20 high-potential growth scale-ups with proven commercial traction that offer both ecological impact and attractive returns. With a size of EUR 172 million, BNPP SIVF invests across sub-sectors of the ecological transition and across geographies, notably in Europe & the UK, North America, and Israel. Our investment approach is pragmatic, opportunistic and technology driven, and we are well-equipped to accelerate the development of entrepreneurs from early stage to scale.

Private assets are investment opportunities that are unavailable through public markets such as stock exchanges. They enable investors to directly profit from long-term investment themes and can provide access to specialist sectors or industries, such as infrastructure, real estate, private equity and other alternatives that are difficult to access through traditional means. Private assets do, however, require careful consideration, as they tend to have high minimum investment levels and may be complex and illiquid.
