As part of the 2021 ESG Finance Awards Japan, granted by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment, BNP Paribas Asset Management Japan Limited (‘BNPP AMJ’) has been awarded the Minister of the Environment Award (Gold) in the Investor category.
The 2021 ESG Finance Awards aim to promote and expand ESG finance by recognising and sharing broadly the initiatives or measures advanced by institutional investors, financial institutions, financial services providers, and corporations. Their initiatives should have impact on the environment and society, work towards a transition to a decarbonised and sustainable society. In addition, they should contribute to the transition to a sustainable business model, such as the shift from fossil fuel. The awards also assess measures that have a practical impact on the environment and on society as well as accommodate ESG factors in asset management and engagement.
BNPP AMJ has been recognised for establishing a systematic framework by way of its Sustainable Investment Strategy. It has implemented ESG investment principles across all its asset classes, and has contributed to the improvement of sustainable finance in Japan.
“It is such a privilege for us to win this honourable award by the Minister of the Environment. BNP Paribas Asset Management has been a major global player in sustainable investment since 2002. Encouraged by this recognition of our global measures and implementations, we will certainly strive further to provide impactful ESG investment solutions to Japanese investors.”
