BNP Paribas Asset Management (‘BNPP AM’) announces the appointment of Patrick Simion as Chief of Staff to Frédéric Janbon, Chief Executive Officer of BNPP AM.  Patrick Simion joined BNPP AM in September 2018 as Head of Public Affairs and will remain in this role alongside his new appointment.  He is based in Paris and reports directly to Frédéric Janbon.

As Chief of Staff, Patrick supports management in all decision-making and is involved in co-ordinating and executing strategic initiatives.  In his role as Head of Public Affairs, he is responsible for representing BNPP AM and increasing its visibility with French, European and international regulatory organisations and bodies.

Patrick Simion was a parliamentary assistant in the House of Commons (lower house of the UK Parliament) and then worked at the Directorate General of the French Treasury.  He joined the Autorité des marchés financiers (‘AMF’, the French financial regulator) in 2015, and in 2016 became Deputy Director of the AMF’s Legal and Complex Expertise in Asset Management division.  He has been Head of Public Affairs at BNP Paribas Asset Management since September 2018.  Patrick graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and holds an MSc in Public Policy and Administration from the London School of Economics and Political Science.  He is Chairman of the Brexit Working Group at the Association Française de Gestion (‘AFG’, the French asset management association) and is a lecturer in financial mathematics at Sciences Po in Paris.
