ESG1 factors integrated within the investment process
Our investment philosophy rests on four key beliefs:asset allocation is the primary driver of returns; asset allocation decisions are best made by combining quantitative and qualitative fundamental forecasts; accountability at the individual and team level should be monitored in a fully transparent framework; augmented investment techniques can enrich idea generation to optimize portfolio construction and risk management.
Our USD Short Duration Strategy follows a disciplined and repeatable process:
- Research and forecasting
- Investment committee
- Allocation committee
- Portfolio construction
Team and resources
Our short duration strategies are managed by our Global Multi-Strategy Product Group, with teams based in New York, London, and Paris. James McAlevey, who has more than 21 years of industry experience, is responsible for USD and global short duration management.
Team members benefit from access to our global trading and risk management platform, Sustainability Centre, Quantitative Research Group, and Macro Research team.

- Investing in emerging markets, or specialised or restricted sectors is likely to be subject to a higher-than-average volatility due to a high degree of concentration, greater uncertainty because less information is available, there is less liquidity or due to greater sensitivity to changes in market conditions (social, political and economic conditions).
